Staff Assistant to the Central Military Region

About the Central Military Region
The Central Military Region (MR M) is one of four military regions in Sweden. It encompasses Dalarna, Gävleborg, Stockholm, Södermanland, Uppsala, and Västmanland. The region's staff is located at the Life Guards in Kungsängen and has the overall responsibility to support and coordinate the activities that take place within its geographical area. Within the Central Military Region, there are eleven Home Guard battalions and five of the Home Guard's music corps. The Home Guard, along with the national protection forces, is part of the Armed Forces' operational organization and accounts for nearly half of the Armed Forces' personnel. The MR M Staff leads operational missions, manages national crises and support to society, and conducts continuous cooperation within the framework of total defense with the region's civil authorities.
Main Responsibilities
As a staff assistant, you will belong to one of the staff's departments with various areas of responsibility, but general tasks according to the list below will be the staff assistant's responsibilities:
- Support the staff with decision-making by managing and coordinating incoming and outgoing matters within your department
- Support your department with administrative tasks such as directives, meeting materials, etc.
- Support your department with information management in recommended command support systems/information systems
- Support your department with training on information management in recommended command support systems/information systems
- Assist in developing and maintaining the staff's information flows and information management in collaboration with the staff's information leader
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Approved high school diploma
- Approved military basic training
- Driver's license B
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English
Meritorious
- Good computer skills and good ability to use the Office package
- Approved staff assistant training
- Relevant experience with the application SharePoint
- Relevant experience with the application SITAWARE (HQ and Frontline)
- Relevant experience working in a staff (company, battalion, tactical or operational command level) and in expedition environments
- Relevant experience with other government authorities, service, and administrative work
- Trained in signal protection
- Relevant experience with ISUS, SWECCIS, ISHV, LSS MARK
- Relevant experience in information management and database management
- Relevant experience with SAP/PRIO
Personal Qualities

The Central Military Region (MR M) is a military unit and an organizational unit where the Commander and Staff are located in Kungsängen. The organization consists of a Commander with staff, six training groups for training and support of the Home Guard, and about 7000 Home Guard soldiers organized into eleven battalions and a number of independent units.
The Commander of the Central Military Region with regional staff leads subordinate units, collaborates with regional and local actors, leads security and intelligence services, and supports operational and tactical commanders who solve tasks within the region. The region also serves as a link between the Armed Forces and civil society, has active cooperation with the county administrative board and the region. If necessary, MR M also leads operations, for example, in national crisis situations and support to society. The military region solves tasks in peace, crisis, and war.
The organization and operational area of the Central Military Region encompass the geographical counties of Stockholm, Uppsala, Södermanland, Västmanland, Dalarna, and Gävleborg. Training groups and the Home Guard are present in each county.
